Rodi Garganico

Sorge tra i centri abitati di Ischitella e San Menaio, sulla costa nord del promontorio. Circondata dal verde dei suoi dintorni alberati, Rodi si affaccia su un mare limpido e azzurro. Il paese è costruito su una lieve altura, a metri 46 s.l.m. e gode di un'aria mista di fragranza degli aranci e dei pini che abbondano a ridosso dell'abitato, nonché della brezza marina che spinge le onde su una spiaggia sabbiosa ed assolata. Gli abitanti, detti "rodiàni", sono circa 4.000, e sono dediti da gran tempo in parte all'attività marinara, alla pesca, ai traffici, in parte all'industria e al commercio della frutta locale, specialmente gli agrumi, che qui abbondano di ottima qualità. Tra gli edifici importati di Rodi si ricorda la chiesa di Santa Maria della Libera, dalla cupola bizantina. La città è dotata di alberghi, di ampio campeggio e bungalows

Rodi Garganico

Es erhebt sich zwischen den Einwohnerzentren von Ischitella und San Menaio, auf der Nordküste des Vorgebirges. Umgeben vom Grün seiner mit Bäumen bepflanzten Umgebungen, erhebt sich Rodi an einem klaren blauen Wasser. Das Dorf ist auf einer leichten Anhöhe mit 46 Metern Meereshöhe, und geniesst den Duft der Orangen und Pinien, welche sich im Überfluß in der Ortschaft befinden. Rodi ist sehr angenehm wegen der leichten Meeresbrise und des sandigen, der Sonne ausgesetzten Strandes. Die Einwohner, genannt "rodiani", sind circa 4.000. Sie beschäftigen sich seit langem mit dem Fischfang, dem Schiffwesen, dem Industrie-und Handelsverkhr des örtlichen Obstes, im besonderen der Agrumen, welche hier beste Qualität erzielen. Unter den wichtigen Bauten von Rodi ist die Kirche der "Santa Maria della Libera" mit der byzanthinischen Kuppel. Die Stadt besitzt Hotels, weitläufige Campingplätze und Bungalows

Rodi Garganico

It rises between the inhabitated centres of Ischitella and San Menaio, on the northern side of the promontory. Enclosed by the green of its surrounding trees, Rodi opens on to the clear and blue waters of the sea. The village is built on a high ground at 46 mt. above sea level, and it enjoys a sweet air made of a mixture of fragrances from the oranges and pines abounding behind the inhabitated centre, and from the sea breeze that shoves the sea-waves on the sandy and sunny beach. The inhabitants called "Rodiani" are about 4.000 and their main activities are: fishing, trades, and in part industry and commerce of local fruit which is, for the largest part, citrus, here abouding in excellent quality. Among the many important buildings in Rodi, worth mentioning are: the Church of Santa Maria della Libera with its Byzantine dome. The town is equipped with hotels, a large camping-site and bungalows
